A golden shimmer radiates from Valeria Kozina’s new floral motifs for home wall decoration; thanks to their theme and colours they are able to recapture spring and summer. Warm and sunny tones give an accessible quality to the highly decorative art prints by this Russian artist.
Kozina’s broad repertoire ranges through landscapes, still-lifes and flowers, all in strikingly intensive colours with an expressive application of paint. A selection of floral motifs, a little reminiscent of Emil Nolde, will soon be appearing under the title “Shining Red”. Kozina dispenses with a naturalistic representation and presents a variety of gerberas against a golden yellow background. In this abstracted portrayal of the flowers the contours become blurred and the objects seem to flow into the dynamic background. Sometimes lines are scratched into the surface, giving the picture an even livelier appearance.
